30 Years of Crystal Dynamics

As part of our 30th anniversary celebrations we collaborated with the talented team at NoClip to tell the story of Crystal Dynamics. Watch the story of Gex, Legacy of Kain, Whiplash, Tomb Raider, Marvel’s Avengers, and more!

At Crystal, we champion Humble Integrity, Passionate Impact, Focused Excellence, Continuous Improvement, and the One Team One Dream mentality. It’s important that we aren’t just talking the talk when it comes to our values, but also walking the walk.

Humble Integrity

Humble Integrity – We value a culture of trust, transparency, tolerance, and respect. We believe in holding ourselves accountable to each other, showing empathy for others, and inspiring trust through actions. We leave personal ego out of development and instead focus on creating the best solution possible; not just for ourselves, but for the betterment of our colleagues, partners, and players.

Passionate Impact

Passionate Impact – We value self-motivation and a refusal to lose. Every day is a chance to have a positive impact. We shape the world we want through our passion and actions. We strive to make a difference by crafting meaningful player experiences and we are fueled by our passion to create, and inspire, greatness.

Focused Excellence

Focused Excellence – As creators, we value the pursuit of excellence within our craft. We build games at the pinnacle of quality that stand the test of time. Our IPs are a reflection of who we are: championing diverse perspectives & crafting stories that stand the test of time.

Continuous Improvement

Continuous Improvement – As part of our Focused Excellence, we continuously push ourselves to iterate toward quality. We constantly challenge ourselves to push further and improve daily. The path to achieving the extraordinary is a journey marked by short-term challenges that inform long-term success.

Teamwork and Collaboration

We are one team with one dream. Passionate craftspeople in many different places and from many different backgrounds, working together to build incredible games that fulfill our players’ fantasies. We celebrate wins and own losses together. We work hard to create a positive impact on the world, but we also have fun doing it, and we lean on each other when needed. We value collaboration and teamwork and assume the best intent in one another. We maintain objectivity and openness to others’ views; in fact, we believe that we are stronger for our differences. Everyone here brings something important to the table, and together we truly can “Live the Dream.”

Take a look at our studios in San Mateo, Austin, and Bellevue! We support cross-studio collaboration on all of projects, with many teams located across all three studios.
